I've been speaking with a professional women’s football club in India, and we were chatting about their recent efforts towards two exciting missions, when I thought of this community. The first mission concerns social media strategy: Women's football is on the rise in India, and the club in question has been seriously impressive at the game. As one can expect, they would love to generate interest and public support for the sport. To do this, they want to create a loyal online (and offline) fan community, explore initiatives to deepen their connection with their fans in the city, and along the way secure the support of the right partners and sponsors to help them on their journey. The need here is for someone with strong social media strategy and/or community building expertise to help them make waves online. The second mission more specifically concerns their funding & partnership strategy: They need someone to help them figure out what kind of corporate partners and sponsors they have a high "right-to-win" with, and how they should be reaching out to them to secure these partnerships and sponsorships. Our hypothesis is that they should aim to find local city-based institutions (clubs, restaurants), brands affiliated with sports, fitness, and/or brands for women - but they'll need someone to test this out, give more ideas, and help them reach out to the right folks.
They are too small to offer financial compensation, so this will be pro-bono unless, of course, a sponsor is brought in who is willing to fund this exercise. However, the potential for someone to flex their social media or partnerships strategy chops, have a really cool client up on the portfolio and contribute to the growth of women's sports in India is truly immense.
