Client is looking into creating a new service line that helps close the construction labor gap in Canada (specifically Ontario, Alberta, and/or BC) by helping skilled immigrants enter the country, find work, and get culturally and professionally acclimated/ trained. The client has done a lot of the upfront strategy work but are looking for someone with a background in that space to problem solve, test ideas, and facilitate connections in the space. Rather than a specific deliverable, this is more about tracking hours/ being flexible with what is needed to support the new business line.
Someone with experience/ knowledge specifically in the Canadian construction industry (can be residential or commercial, ideally ON, AB, and/or BC). Ideally, this person also has connections with others in the construction industry and would be willing to help with introductions to help kick off initial business development. Having go-to-market experience on top of Canadian construction knowledge/ connection is helpful but not required. Note: The client is not interested in construction industry experience from the US or other countries since there are specific Canadian nuances they're focused on figuring out.
1-5 hours a week for the foreseeable future (could be multiple months depending on fit)
Remote but client is Toronto-based
No budget was given but the client is aware that this is a top-tier community
If interested, please DM me with a few bullet points on your specific background realted to this! (I'm talking again with the client this weekend so if you're able to DM me by late afternoon tomorrow (July 28) that would be ideal)
