Beyond consulting compensation, active community members receive revenue sharing and client ownership compensation.
Community Fee: 20%
The community fee is 20% of the total project cost. It is comprised of three parts:
A. Shared revenue pool: 40%
To help smooth income and reward community involvement, active members receive a distribution from this pool semiannually. It's comprised of two evenly split pools:
- Community pool: Distributed equally among active members
- Performance pool: Distributed proportionally based on the value of work completed on the platform. This is calculated as a combined value of work performed and work shared within NorthLawn
B. Client owner compensation: 20%
For sharing client opportunities with the community, the member receives this amount not only for the single opportunity but for all future work by the individual client.
C. Platform support: 40%
To maintain and improve NorthLawn, a portion of the fee goes back into the platform. This is among the lowest in the industry.
Being an “active member” is different than being in “good standing”. To qualify as an active member, a member must either perform consulting work or share consulting opportunities within the NorthLawn community. The value of the completed consulting work or completed shared opportunity must exceed $2,500 USD.
The performed or shared work is dated based on when the project's full community fee is shared to NorthLawn and will for each semiannual pool period.
